    Heavy needs advice

Newby here. I have a small collection of Milsurp bolt action rifles and I want to add a 1903. I want a decent one that can be fired. I would appreciate advice on what to look for and what I should expect to pay. Also, 1903 vs 1903A3.
    Many thanks, jcs44

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. It you plan on firing it, the 03A3 is a lot better shooter because of the sights. A decent shooter rebuild 03A3 is around the 700 mark +/-.

They are not listing any 03's right now and I have a sneaky suspicion any that do come in will go straight to auction. Browse the gun shows.

A few M1903s and M1903A3s show up in the store from time to time but no way to predict when. If you live close enough you could check from time to time ...
