    FN C1A1 rifle (Ex-OPP)

    Hello to all,

Please find below a lot of pictures of my FN C1A1 rifle that I have not presented so far. As per the Canadian Army Supply Manual (C-71-113-000/MX-000) dated April 1963 the unit price for an FN C1A1 with a long stock (NATO Stock Number 1005-21-150-5294) was $193.77.

On the first picture, I place with the C1A1 all the accessories, weapon tech tools, cleaning kit, infrared scope, and Sniper Scope C1. This rifle is an Ex-OPP (Ontario Provincial Police). It was sold to a gun dealer in UK and then brought back to Canadaicon by Collector Sources in Ontario. This is why you can see Britishicon proof mark on the barrel and upper receiver.

I found a muzzle cover (NATO Stock Number 1005-21-103-6488) that fit over the flash eliminator on the FN C1A1 and FN C2A1. It is make from black rubber. As per the Canadian Army Supply Manual dated April 1963 the unit price was .08¢.

Whilst we are waiting for the pics Jim...

Were the C1's procured for the Ontario Provincial Police (and other force areas) direct from Canadianicon Arsenals, or diverted from Canadian Army stocks?

Did they have to be exported when retired?

"...was $193.77..." That was a great deal of money in 1963. And then, after Trudeau the Elder closed Canadianicon Arsenals and gave all the machines, tooling and left over parts to India in 1975, some bright light at NDHQ asked FN what it would cost if the CF ever needed more(over the rumoured 500,000 BNIB C1A1's to be in storage) and FN said something like $1100 US plus, each. I forget the actual number.
    Spelling and Grammar count!

You have to love politicians, bloody fools, with the memory of goldfish!

We only have Fn UKicon (formerly Manroys) left here now to manufacture small arms.
