If some rough dimensions will do you any good, my six port has an OD of .746". the OAL of the wide part comes to about 1.922" if you don't count the .064" flange of the cap at the muzzle end, and the taper where the barrel flares to meet the increased diameter of the brake. The flare begins at about .421" forward of the front sight base. Reduced diameter section of the cap ahead of the flange is .352" long, and about .549" in diameter, not considering the flats for unscrewing it. ID of the muzzle end of the cap comes at .353". Distance from the front of the front sight base to end of muzzle cap is about 2.794". This may not add up perfectly, but I'm just working with the old calipers after a beer or two. Hope this can get you ballpark.

    SUPER !!!!

With those dimensions I think I can turn up a plausible replacement.

    Many, many thanks,
    Patrick

To my knowledge the SVT40 flash hider is an integral part of the front sight assembly and also includes bayonet lug, etc. Could it be that this part was cut off, the front part then threaded and a self-made flash hider fitted which is now missing?

Promo, the flash hider was indeed removed at one stage, in conformance with a ridiculous regulation (now repealed) that was intended to stop military rifles looking like ... military rifles.

Patrick, did you get some photos sent to you of a flash hider? I can take some photos of either my two port or 6 port if you wish, with a caliper next to it to show different thicknesses of the ports, etc.

Don't know about your import laws, but Liberty Tree Collectors currently has an SVT40 "flash hider muzzle extension" for sale for $35.00 US.

Thanks for the offer, but I found a very clear photo of the entire assembly that, together with the measurements from Low & Slow, enabled me to make a scaled sketch that should be quite adequate for the purpose.

I would then suggest you to buy a full replacement instead of making a DIY Bubba solution. A full replacement will cost less than to make the flash hider only yourself, and if you are patient, they are on eGun from time to time. Plus it is original.
