Interesting WW2 US Navy Carrier film.

    Some interesting images here.

With regards to the commentary, please bear in mind the context of when this archive film was made, i.e. the world was in the midst of "total war".

I wouldn't worry, the other side said, thought and did far worse, and in some cases still does.
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.

Lotta those propaganda films were made by Hollywood professionals. I've seen a lot of that footage in other propaganda films and in Hollywood movies. Lot of the carrier deck scenes in Tora, Tora, Tora and other came directly from propaganda films. The scene where Charlie Heston dies in a crash was real footage.
