    adh2,
If the threads are not too badly buggered, you may be able to "chase" them out with the appropriate tap & die set from Brownell's or McMaster-Carr. Does anyone here remember what the thread size is? It should be the same as the front band screw, so you can determine that with a pitch gauge.
    Cheers,
    Splice

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Yes, the middle band where one attaches the sling. The Numrich ones are not marked like this original LB lower band.
I can maybe help you out but you have to be more specific.........if you want the proper band as it would have left the factory with then it should have a LB stamp.....if you want that exact stamp as in your photo that is not a Long Branch manufactured part and therefore not correct to your "mint" rifle but that's up to you.
Let me know which one you want to install and like I said I may be able to help you!
