Early No4 Milled Micrometer Sight?

I came across this in a group of parts, its not like the others... marked E over D, with a forked surface for the plunger to engage, blacked with a ground off battle sight, a standard micrometer screw neck is to large to enter the body.

Best I come up with is a Trials Rifle sight that was converted for use on a 4T? What do you say?Attachment 104987 Attachment 104988

You nailed it. Hard to see from the photo, but that looks like the stylized E-D found on early trials/snipers. Nice find!

There are certainly both 4 & 6 click versions. I have a '31 Trials T with a 4 click & a 33 with a 6 click.

So if I was to rebuild it to make it more useful - should it have a modified adjustment screw as per MK IIV drawing or should I use otherwise "standard" Mk4 parts (with the neck reduced to fit)?

If I was you I'd go back and find out if the rest of it can be located.

Good advice there. If you can't possibly locate the rest of it, then worry about what to do.
