Fit and finish leave a lot to be desired. Really shows up in the close up photos. Wartime production cut a lot of corners. Took it apart and cleaned it last night, didn't have much in it, just a bit of carbon around the firing pin.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Very nice! I saw one in Arizona a couple of weeks ago in excellent shape with the holster for $800. Since I am from California, they couldn't sell it to me. Would $800 have been too much?

Holster's are not cheap, this type generally goes for $200-$300 by itself. I didn't pay that much, I sniper bid on ebay for less than that. Pistol started at $600 but was discounted to $400 by the time I purchased it.

In reality, didn't cost me a cent. I got a veterans discount of $20 and then the rest including tax and transfer was paid with points. My only expenses were the gas to get there and the holster and extra magazine.

Mine's a bit more pedestrian C block. No civilian nitro proof on the barrel, no triangle mark. Wa 140. Serialed frame, slide, and barrel extension. Bore's nice, exterior decent, but there's a pretty good ding on the extension by the muzzle. Just the one mag with the same marking. That holster's sweet!
