    Question Romanian 8mm Spam Can

I have too much 8mm milsurp ammo (did I really say that?!? ), and thinking of selling this Romanian 340-round spam can. Does anyone know, or is there a way of telling from the can label, if this ammo is on stripper clips? I don't want to open the can to find out.

I think it is on clips. Steel case, on clips, 154 gr. bullet and corrosive primed. If I remember right there was a bunch of it that has case necks that were a bit longer then they should have been and some rifles won't feed it into the chamber as its too long.

My cans are identical and the rounds are on strips. If that helps.

Well, since you're in Texas you could get an MG 42...and then you won't have that problem any more. That would be great fun too...bet it'll handle long case necks too.

This may help you in regards to BAR's post cheap as well!!!!!!!

    Calibre/Item: 8mm
    Make: MG 42
    Action: full auto
    Serial No: 3179B
    Condition: Good
    Price: $40,000.oo/Aud
    Advertised: 10/11/2019
    Licence number: 503-120-70f
    Phone: deleted 12-2pm weekdays
Comment: Germanicon WW2 MG 42 recently rebuilt /restored with all original parts including new old stock rails. Cycles well, made by AR Subplant DF. These are far harder to find than 34 and most are replicas on market today. Here is a chance to own a real one fully rebuilt with mint top cover and feeder , excellent grip unit and nice barrel and wooden butt. Comes with sling and ammo tin with five belts and starter tab. No warranty is given or implied for use as historic item in functioning condition only. Use should be with competent gun smith control as these had issues when new so after 80 yeas of use and abuse you do the maths . A rare chance to own such an item.
Please dont ring and ask if you need a licence as this is a real one and law will be followed to the letter . Note that in shot had wrong butt fitted, original as good , just wooden model

The can has the military ammo and is not the later made commercial which had the problem with the shoulder [ not the neck ] being to far forward .

Ah I knew it was something too long. But it was also in spam cans too wasn't it? I do not remember it being called commercial ammo.
