I am trying to reassemble a M57. It functioned fine when I picked it up. It came apart with no problems. After cleaning, the hammer group will not fully set back down into the frame. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, how did you rectify it? Thanks!

I solved all my problems by buying Pistol and Revolver Disassembly and Reassembly by Stuart Mowbray and Joe Puleo. Short of that a quick google search should bring up a you tube video on how to do it for your specific pistol.
I will order that book. Now that I have purchased my first milsurp pistol (the M57), I have a feeling I will buy some more. I checked You Tube but there was nothing. I finally just marked the lower part of the hammer group, dropped it in, and then found where it was rubbing inside the frame. Turned out it was hanging up on an internal part of the safety. A couple of minutes of filing and it finally dropped in.
It was a part of the safety that was installed by the importer when they came into the country. They cast the piece too thick in one area. The entire safety lever mechanism doesn't present itself as a very high quality piece of manufacturing. I actually watched that video when I was trying to figure it out, it just didn't cover the problem I was experiencing. And I'm not sure firing that thing full auto would be much fun! Those 7.62x25's have some kick to them!

Agreed, often they're the noisiest thing on the firing line. And I was suggesting that "I" shouldn't alter something too much...if it was me. I'd take too much off and it might do nothing after.
I'm pretty certain these aren't exactly precision made. Maybe extra material...present.
