    Remington 03-A3

I own a Remington 03-A3 that had been sporterized. The original front post sight along with the front 2 inches of the barrel were removed. It has what looks like a modern hunting rifle stock. The barrel markings I found with out taking the rifle out of the stock are:

    U.S.
    Remington
    Model 03-A3
    3836626

I also found an odd partial stamp just forward of above markings on the barrel. It appears to be a partial stamp of a star of some sort. Visible are 5 points the other about 1/4 of the stamp is not there almost like the stamp was too big for the barrel.

The bolt, not original, has 2 markings an R and an 8 with a circle around it.

On all the forum link for serial numbers I cannot find the exact serial number to match to a manufacture date.

    I will post pics soon

The "star" (as well as the "circled 8") is a Remington sub-inspection stamp.
