    Selling up my Bren Collection

Not sure if this is the right place but as it's mainly Bren related I thought it would be most relevant here.

After many years collecting in a minor way I'm selling off my collection. I thinned it out last year and got it down to stuff used 1945-1965, mainly but for various reasons I've decided to bite the bullet and make a clean sweep of it, less a couple of kits to go with the two old spec Brens I am keeping rather than have butchered as per the new UKicon regulations.

Anyroad I started putting stuff up at the start of the week as bloodshotbear on eBay but when I hit 100 auctions I discovered that was all I was allowed in a month as a new seller so then the wife started putting stuff on for me as gspacksaddlery like she did last year when we got rid of a lot of superfluous stuff.

I'd like to take the chance to thank all those on the forum I've exchanged information with or obtained bits off over the years.

    All the very best

    Tom Ready

Are you putting anything on the WTS forum here? I know shipping is a hog but still happens on Ebay so thought maybe...Lots of prospective buyers here...

There are some bits that ebay won't let me put up, I've a box of bayonets ( I even had to remove that word when I was putting up some bayonet frogs and manuals that also taught bayonet fighting ) and a bunch of legal to own in the UK spares that I'm sure will be of use to someone. I think I pulled 3 or 4 new 7.62mm Bren extractors from spares tins I broke up, the same with the SLR spares that were in the L4 and GPMG kits. I'm a bit hazy on the legality of sending them overseas to be honest. ther'es also al pile of referance books, like Skennertons Britishicon and Commonwealth Bayonets that don't seam to do as well on ebay as elsewhere. Think Ive a pic of the bayonets, although Ive since found a No 7 and another No. 4.

    Cheers,

    tom

That Owen bayonet should go nicely, there shouldn't be a problem sending a blade across the border. I'm sure it'll travel OK. I've done it recently...

You are in the UKicon , how do I get some thing shipped to the U.S. ? I would like to bid on some of your E-Bay listings , please let us know , thanks . You list the bayonets as fight knives and leave out the word bayonet when listing the frogs and E-Bay will let it be listed .

Hi Tom. It is a bit of an upheaval to start selling off your collection but once you have started you adjust to it fairly quickly. I sold the bulk of my MG collection when I retired (including 6 various Bren models - down to just my 1938 DD MkI now) but still retained a few for nostalgia. I have been gathering up a few interesting antique guns from our local gold rush (1860's) and I have a clump of US cars that I am enjoying.

Regards to you, Tash and the boys.
    Rod
