Exclamation Beware - possible scam by Nickmeal

I've been advised by member usabaker to check the following new member.

Member Nickmeal joined March 2nd at 3:58 pm using email address nicksalazar0000@gmail.com, saying he was referred to our site by John D. Kopke.

He's already sent 11 PM's (Private Messages) for different items to other members here, redirecting them to contact someone in Texas at email smikky60@gmail.com

I have deleted ALL of his PM's.

Note: We do not allow re-direction selling on our site, only direct sales from our WTS/WTB/WTT classifieds area.

I think it's possibly another bait and switch scam.

I've placed him in moderation while seeking clarity.

Thanks for the heads up usabaker.

    Regards,
    Doug

Update: I've had no response so I've permanently banned him from the site.

There was a post this morning, something about "what's this stamp" on a Mas36, which redirected to a spam or browser hijacker site. Can't find the post now - deleted already?

    I can't find the post you're referencing.

If anyone can find and point it out to me, I'll deal with it.

    Regards,
    Doug

    Just found it again: https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=70153

Got a warning this time from McAfee, but no browser hijack. Last time the image of the rifle was no visible in the post IIRC, just a link.

I've just been sent a PM by a new user (Jason*; ID 36398) that registered today that I should contact a certain e-mail address who has what I once posted a WTB in here. It seems a bit unusual that right after your first post you PM others for a WTB of them. Did any other persons also receive PM from this user? Doug, can you check if he PM'd others too?

    Good catch partner.

This pattern sounds similar to the other scammers. Just joined and contact redirection.

    I'll get on it.

    Regards,
    Doug

Edit: Yup, I think he's a scammer too. Dozens and dozens of PM's with a redirection to Richard in Chicago at richardboyd025@gmail.com.
