Little update: Tonight all restrictions have been tightened.
No more physical activity outside (not clearly expressed: I live on the land and can get in the middle of wonderful vineyards in a matter of 200 metres from home, so it is nonsense), all shops closed on Sundays, more controls...
The latest numbers show that we have more people being prosecuted for wrong declarations to Police and Carabinieri about the rightfulness of their movements that people struck by the disease. And we have plenty.
So, in the end, stupidity still prevails over medical condition...
Since this is a MiSurps forum, today or latest tomorrow I'll post my beloved SPAS12 in military configuration.
It is time to cuddle her a bit. I know she feels lonesome...

We have had 2 confirmed cases down here in the Southwest, an 81 y/o lady passed away as the latest victim over east, a person was assualted in Tasmania for just wearing a face mask probably did not occur to the king hitter that the person they hit for no reason may have been born there in Tassie, just they were asian. Thats not the Australiaicon I knew and grew up in the bush with the smiling face and help you out no matter what, that is wrong on all levels of humanity.

We are now conducting hook-ups with meetings, my new job starts on a constructioin site on the 30th not sure how its all gunna work I'll just tailor the toolboxes and pre starts & safety briefings around this disease not sure on the site numbers but it would have to be 4-500 onsite.

This piece was on Sky News yesterday. Please do NOT look at it if you are easily upset.

It gives an indication of what our brothers and sisters in Italianicon hospitals have been trying to cope with and an indication, perhaps, to the rest of us of what may be about to hit us.

Yes. That is the true face of the problem. Although I’m starting to think about it and come up with some strange ideas...
I’ll elaborate later. IPhone is too tiny.

I was speculating a bit today.
There are “casualties” everywhere now. The numbers are soaring, so there are more and more panicked voices for a complete shutdown of the Country. But that would mean that people would panic immediately. Shortening the opening hours of shops would cause people to huddle up and raise the risk of infection.
All this without even considering the repercussions on the economy and so, on the life of millions of people.
The problem is that too many people talk. People who know things and people who don’t. And it is not always easy to discriminate the first from the latter ones.
One of the most important lessons I have learned during these last three weeks is that a country facing a disaster does not need total freedom of speech, absolute tolerance for every opinion. It needs a very tight management of the information, which should be in good, competent hands. But one line, one opinion, one decision maker. Armchair heroes and geniuses, politicians and other idiots must shut up and allow the ones with responsibility and competence to do their work. Which is to cross the river and bring everybody to safety.
If people keep hearing conflicting opinions, there will be confusion and uncertainty.
In times of crises, Rome had time-limited dictators. That may be a tad too much, but letting donkeys talk and create confusion on all media is certainly not democracy: it is foolish.
Another thing that I’m learning is how unsettling it is not to know, not even roughly, how long a situation like this will last. No-one seems to know.
Everybody is reacting to the crisis with harsher rules and calling for even stricter ones. I’m home with a wife and three kids. For me, the only tough aspect of this situation is that I can’t tell them anything. I talk about how we can spend time, what we will do after this, but I can’t answer their only real question.
How long can such a situation last? How long can an economy hold? How long can people last under house arrest?
I surprised myself thinking that maybe, within a week or two, once the situation gets untenable, someone could come up with a solution that may sound like this: protect, segregate as good as possible all the more fragile people, all elders, all weak and sick ones, and let all the others face the disease. The tragedy is the sheer amount of people in horrible conditions who overwhelm the hospitals, but if we can protect the more exposed categories, we might reduce pressure on the hospitals and allow for all the others to keep on living. Those with complications would be able to get treatment and the rest would just get that damned flu. In the meantime, someone would finally come up with a vaccine (and then I would really like to stand watch at the town hospital to see if a couple of local no-vax families show up).
I don’t know anything of viruses, biology etcetera, I’m just thinking freely and wildly. But I have the feeling I might not be that far off...

    Last little thing.
Cleaning up home, i stumbled on a long forgotten document, the original registration of my Grandpa’s Carcano when, before the end of WWII, he moved to Sulmona, in central Italyicon. Dated March 9th, 1945.
    Great to find it again!

One of the "experts" that came on television recently stated that masks should have filters with a rating of P3 which is a fine rated filter. If this information is correct, all of those just wearing a thin "dust mask" for protection are presumably risking putting themselves at risk from the virus?

N95 is unlikely to be effective as the N95 is for filtering particulates (ie. dust)

Our Govt is looking at a 6 month plan according to our P.M, his cry for stop hoarding has gone onto deaf ears there is a moderately sized town not far from where we live called Donnybrook(Donny-brook) it has a small IGA store sorta like a mini Coles carrying most stuff. Well a bus load of asian ethnic people turned up in a bus yes a bloody bus and hoovered the shop clean and departed for who knows where this is what we are facing here people are towing trailers 000's kilometers just to buy stuff the govt has lifted the restricted travel hours on the semi trailers so they can go 24/7 to keep supplies going which is a good move. And I reckon soon it will be I.D for locals to get into our shops in town, the suppliers can keep up with demand (with restrictions) if only people would stop this panic buying we have got probably enough for a month + if we go under house lockdown by skipping the midday meal and controlling portion sizes cooking things like stews and pasta dishes to freeze and have later.
My wife and I discussed where did this Covid-19 come from it appears and strikes but how and what did it morph from things just don't appear out of nowhere, I just feel there is more here to what we are being told by our Govt's. And really its no use saying don't panic as people are and we are not even seeing the harsh reality of this Pandemic here yet so what is it going to be like when it hits my 21 y/o son is in the high risk due to a low immune system and I worry allot about him and ensure he keeps the distance from people and washes his hands with soap often but its still a worry.
Also if you had the cash now would be the time to buy shares our dollar is down to arround 50 USC we have green backs in the safe but whats the point.
I talked to my gunsmith and he said its stupid whats happening they always have a vast stock of all types of ammo & calibers but they are down to 30% of capacity with some calibers sold out I gather .22 ammo would be high on the agenda I brought a 500 round brick last year and and still have 465 rounds left good for popping bunnies and parrots the latter are ok to eat just gotta cook'em low & slow in a stew I have eaten gallah & 28's, top knot pigeons are nice as well.

Well thats about it from here in the Southwest of Western Australiaicon keep safe people and stock up on good reading material its going to be a long winter, and to you and your family Ovidio keep safe and you could always chuck a fishing line down your well may snag a fish or 3 only joking bloke take care.

It just goes on and on, The wife works at Walmart. New orders today for her, all deli meat gets wrapped and donated to the food bank to cut down on handling and possible transmission of Covid 19.
