We read here that the number of cellphone contracts has declined by 21 million from December. Since you can not just close such a contract as you wish in democratic China, plus that this is completely against the tendency prior to December, that might be bad news...

I just received a video of a military convoy transporting covid casualties from Bergamo to the crematory here close to us. All police on the roads started their sirens and saluted. I’m weeping like a girl...
    Damn...

In the meantime, the Alpini from Bergamo built a hospital for infected patients in a matter of three days.
    Great folks!!!

    I agree.

I think we've got it wrong, and I think a harder, but ultimately shorter duration full lockdown, would have produced a better outcome, as we can see elsewhere. Look at South Korea, totally different approach with testing and tracking from the off and a hard crack down.
I worry that this will just linger in the UK for far too long, and the pressure will be to return to normal way before its prudent to do so. That could be so much more damaging to the UK that the short sharp shock method would have been.

    Only time will tell.

Hang in there Ovidio even being in touch with friends like here will keep the sane lid on, whilst none of us here have witnessed what Italyicon is facing we are all standing by you and are here for you K.

The state Govt fixed the ship crisis and the passengers will be flown home to Germanyicon one person gave the news crew the bird maybe they were frustrated but our Govt is assisting them getting home its a fair swim to Europe from Western Australiaicon I found the gesture a bit off but hey they are under duress I guess.
They held an election if Qld WTF! we have the commonwealth govt issuing mandatory practices so this state decides to hold and election with people voting seriously Qld come on this is not a joke they are having to close beaches over east as the numpties are flocking like birds with a brain to match so the police are starting to issue fines.
Funny thing is one person forced into lock down in a hotel in Perth the Govt is picking up the tab he was p***ed off man I would be thankful the govt paying the bill at say $140/night for 14 days........
Not to much else happening here we are still allowed to move around and keep distanced at 1.5m but the changes are coming for us so we are now fully prepared just gotta grab some more water.
Take care guys and keep safe....

I believe this will be a defining moment for a lot of the younger generations of Americans and probably in other countries as well. In America, none of the younger generations have known as things such as the lack of "Want" with everything having been given to them and the politically correct BS that politicians have been feeding them. Yesterday, I saw the head of the NY City Department of Health, a doctor no less tell every one to go out and even take the subway. I believe its going to get far worse than they are letting on to. The local politicians are letting "nonviolent" offenders out of jail with a warrant to return after the pandemic is over! Are you kidding me?? We already had gun shots being fired in an apartment complex a half mile away. Great. My wife, my daughter and I are staying put as we have always been prepared for these kind of crisis and we stay put until the pandemic is over. If anyone is coming looking for trouble they will find it. Stay safe guys and take care we are living in troubled times.

    CHINA HIT BY SECOND WAVE

This emerging pattern poses a grave risk to the chances that the world’s second-largest economy can repair the damage from the closures in February enacted to curb the virus.

Even as policy makers including the Premier, Li Keqiang, talk up a recovery and roll out support measures, the economists continue to cut their growth forecasts.

“It is definitely the second shock-wave for the Chinese economy,” said Xing Zhaopeng, an economist at the Australiaicon & New Zealand Banking Group. The global spread of the virus “will affect China manufacturing through the two key channels of:
    • disrupted supply chains
    • and declining external demand.”
Furthermore, the markets for manufactures outside of China only now is beginning to respond, and just think what happens when Europe is on total shutdown, and then it is joined by the United Statesicon as the pandemic spreads.

The earliest insight from official data into the emerging pain for industry will come on the 31st March, when the Purchasing Managers’ Indices (PMI) for the month are released.

The stark fact remains that unless there is a strong rebound, the record slump in profits seen in the first two months of the year is likely to continue and for some considerable time yet.

In the meantime, firms are saying that cancelled orders, uncertain logistics and delayed payment have become their latest headaches.

While Central Government has been keen to stress that Chinese manufacturing is back to at least 85% of its capacity and in fact it is nearer 90%, anecdotal evidence and other reporting has pointed out that although factories may be open, they are producing little. In some cases in order to provide corroborating evidence of manufacturing, some plants are having to run their machinery but with no production, just so the Central government can point to the energy surge to support its manufacturing claims. All this is unproven of course, but it is clear that some journalists seeking photographic evidence were closely shepherded.
