That is, unfortunately, true and 100% correct.
The safety masks ordered by Italyicon have been blocked and seized in Germanyicon, Austriaicon has closed the borders, Slovenia has sealed them.
Other countries have started discriminating Italians.
Until the enormous crap Mrs. Lagarde said Thursday, which caused yesterday some out-of-time and very embarassed reactions from the EU, not a single “partner” country has offered any kind of help.
That is a real shame. We can come out of this by ourselves, but the next one who will tell me about the need for a united Europe for being stronger all together, I guess I might be friendly but quite impolite in my answer...

Aragorn, if you consider how this thing spreads, I don’t really think you can do much about it until the proportions of the problems it causes strike people.
We had idiots huddling and bunching up in bars until a couple days ago, mostly in the South, which was mostly still out of it, but not only.
When I leave home now, I have to bring ID, a form with all my data, address, reason for being out and the Carabinieri or Police will 100% check it.
Thousands of people have already gotten in big trouble for being too “smart” and taking it for joke.
But please believe it, slowly build up a stock of stuff and take it seriously.
The feeling you describe is real. Traffic is down to almost nothing. Today, Saturday, no cars at all. No motorbikes, no bikes...
Greta’s Paradise. Unluckily that would require the extinction of 95% of all people.

I still believe it is not really going to get too much worse than this, so I confirm DEFCON 3 at home.
All ready, but still in the safe.

If we keep the emergency at three weeks, I’m also covered with Prosecco, so no panic.

Hang in there Ovidio its sad to read that an olive branch is not being held out to Italyicon from its neighbours as you say after this event Italy will be stronger its a long held saying that I say to myself about friends and it is this "When the sh*t hits the fan and the dust settles those still by your side are your true friends." I may be 0000's Klm's Ovidio but you have my best wishes in a time of uncertain futures for well everyone really Take care bloke in fact that goes for all of the wider community here look after yourselves and family and we will see you all on the other side of this event...........

Has this virus affected any animals does anyone know?
The sad fact in this is, we are all going to get it, like we did Measles or Mumps, I know its not a comparison, and it may be over a long time period, and thats why I think our medical "geniuses" have the balance right.
The HERD method could work, IF the younger population get it first in large numbers, like some of these young fit footballers, who recovered after 2 days and then self isolated for a week.
Lets cross our fingers and hope the best guesses work and wish countries especially Italyicon all the very best in the next few crucial weeks ahead.

So far there is no known transmission from animals to humans. There is one case of it showing up in a dogs mouth and nasal cavities in Hong Kong but it could have been because the dog was breathing and/or licking it in from his owner that had it. The Dog was not sick.

What is aggravating me the most is people that just refuse to acknowledge this is a problem. While I don't think it is necessarily the problem many in government think it is, it remains a serious problem. I have friends and family saying stupid things like this is less deadly than the flu because the flu killed 46 thousand Americans last year and this has killed 30. Come back to me when it's killed 46,000. And then they compare car accident fatalities, etc like that has a real purpose in a discussion on the lethality of a certain virus. Obviously no understanding of statistics, death rates or even simple math. My wife and I both have a surviving parent that is over 80 and in the highest risk factor and neither is in the best of health. We also have a grandchild who we are thankful is not likely to be affected by this but he was my primary concern when this first started. But my daughter is freaking out a little because my son-in-law had legionnaires (yes, THE legionnaires) and his lungs are considered vulnerable even though he's otherwise in good health. My grandson was also a premie so she's a little worried about that but he didn't really have lung issues at birth. I think more people are in a similar situation than they are willing to acknowledge.

Just do your part and keep telling people.
You can’t do much more than this.
Keep spirits high, use technology to feel human vicinity, and respect common sense rules.
Doing this, we have been allowed to keep working.
We had a record year in 2019 and are still set even better for 2020.
The goal is to prevail and to beat 2019, in spite of everything.
Today it rains, so no walk on the fields. But sauna and, from 19:00 (7:00 PM) Skyperitivo with the mates.

    Cheers my friends!
    And thanks for being there!

No worries mate, that sauna could sweat some old oil out of a few guns whilst you were in there with your salami and bottle of wine too.
Keep your chin up, we'll all collectively get through this serious bacterial virus!

This have been a bit crazy here in San Diego. All schools public and private start shut down Monday. That triggered a 2nd panic buy. I have a Yugoicon Tokarev M57 coming in from J&G Sales and thought I should get some ammo. I contacted my friend who is FFL to order some Prvi Partizan 7.62 TOKAREV FMJ 85 Gr and she wrote; "it is currently out of stock (along with most other ammo)... Panic buying is sucking up Ammo and guns and toilet paper... So I just placed an order with J&G Sales for 2 Polish 7.62X25 Tokarev FMJ ammunition. Brass case, Corrosive, 1950's era production. 70rd boxes. I'll work on getting the PPU later.

On Friday, I and the wife stopped by COSTCO (An American warehouse store) at lunch to buy rice because her father complained that we were out. We did not bother to go in, we went to the Asian store, the line to get into COSTCO at 11:15AM was from north end of the building to the end of the opposite side in the east end and then back to the entrance that faces west. IN THE RAIN, It was incredible!

Glad to see you're into the health foods Ovidio!

Reportedly 800 people outside the local Costco yesterday morning.

This might be a good time for people who never have to sit down at the smorgasbord of information we call the Internet and educate themselves about what they can do THEMSELVES to improve their immune function and reduce their exposures.

It's possible that one's immune system may be useful even beyond this event.
