The walls are beginning to be built around New York. Figuratively anyway. Several states are putting any New Yorkers they find into 14 day quarantine whether they want it or not. Many New Yorkers are fleeing the city like rats from a sinking ship and going to neighboring states of flying to warmer locations in Florida. In a somewhat related matter Trump is considering a complete quarantine of New York, New Jersey and part of Connecticut which will be enforceable. So far most quarantines or stay at home orders have been more or less voluntary and have only come from state or city governments. Cuomo, the governor of New York opposes it which probably means it's a good idea. City officials were as late as yesterday telling city residents to continue using the subway and at the same time decreasing the number of trains which increased the number of people per car. It's almost like they don't have a clue what social distancing is.

Locally, my county and PA as a whole continue to see increased numbers of positive cases and deaths but the numbers remain manageable. About a third of the state's counties and most of the population is now under stay at home orders which as I said above are not being enforced through fines or jail time. You can go out for just about anything so long as you don't congregate in groups or with people outside your household. Social distancing being the key. If you are not practicing it, they will tell you to move along. Most people are staying home today other that visits to the grocery stores which are seeing another rush with the stay in place order. I've been out playing Pokemon in my car which is allowed, total social distancing there. The park was completely empty, traffic finally light elsewhere.

Most restaurants including fast food are delivering now, for free for the most part from what I can tell. I was sorely tempted to get Taco Bell at lunch today but I was strong and ate a can of Chef boy ar dee and a couple of hotdogs. Jurassic Park marathon on TNT.

Albania has sent 30 specialists to help us. Mr. Rama, Albanian premier, held a wonderful, truly European speech in perfect Italianicon.
Among other things, he said that Albania is not rich, but it has memory and remembers the help always received from Italy, so they could not keep their reserves while Italy is fighting. Other nations, very rich ones, he said, behaved differently, not Albania.
I’m so grateful I can’t express it properly.
And they are not in the EU yet, just candidates...
    Makes one really think...

Albanians do not always get fair consideration on the world stage but in this dark hour they show their true colors.

Perhaps, anxiety is causing some people to use the toilet more often, anxiety over getting the virus?

I do believe that it is an interesting experience seeing how other people behave and react to the virus. Personally I am concerned for the older members of my family but not especially for myself. I will follow any official and scientific advice but I am not going to panic, overreact or do anything else of an unconsidered nature in response to it.

I fully expect to get the virus at some point but my hope is to delay getting it for as long as possible. If and when I do get it, I'll take my chances and just hope that it's a mild form.

It seems to be morphing apparently a child has died from it along with a 35 y/o man not sure where and when we were talking about it on a m/cycle ride of 4 people when we stopped for a break maintaining our 1.5M.

Good thing is we were going at such a speed when mobile the virus would not catch us and there were some really nice twisties the poor Harley rider said you guys went over the hill and when I crested it you were gone out of sight, I gave my V4 Duke a rest and took the 1199 S Tricolore Ducati out its pokey as well with mods and up-mapping its pushing 200+ crank Hp all in a 163Kg dry bike I run very sticky road tyres for obvious reasons.

If it happens I'd rather if possible be out enjoying the thrill of fast riding than laying on a hospital bed slowly drowning with mucous filled lungs at least one hopes the former will be quick, we did have 1 numptie in a 4x4 cruiser starting to do a a 3 point turn in the opposite lane on the blind side of a hill we were not at light speed but not slouching it either think I glanced at the speedo just prior to the crest and it was north of 170Kph.

Brembo brakes are very very good. Eh! Ovidio.

Today, 10th birthday of my youngest daughter, I prepared Snake River Rib Eye and a Tomahawk of another high quality meat I can’t remember right now (Wagyu, added 30/03/2020).
Reverse searing and then wood ambers.
A great wine from close to here and some peace of mind...

Read the other day that an Italianicon study showed over 99% of the fatalities had a pre-existing condition such as diabetes, asthma etc. Smokers and the obese seem to be considered as having a pre-existing condition. Spanish soccer coach in his 20s: lymphoma. Worth remembering that a good many people have pre-existing conditions they're not aware of. That and just a weak constitution and immune response which some of us are unlucky enough to be born with, probably explains all the younger fatalities.

I'll try to avoid preaching, but an hour's reading online will give a person a good idea what they can do to improve their immune response, at almost any age: diet, hydration (and water quality), exercise, sunlight (Vit. D etc.). Our lymphatic systems only work when we move...

    Some context on that here.
