A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Another update on the Firearm business in NJ. In the past week. Several Glocks have been coming in dripps and drabs. we had one shipment which included two Glock 19X and three Glock 17 Gen 5 pistols. The Glock 19X were sold in an hour of hitting the selves. In one case, the person paid in full over the telephone with out seeing the pistol. All of them were gone in less than a day. We had five S&W MP15 Sport II 5.56mm rifles come in and they were gone in less than two hours! We also received an additional shipment three Glock 45 MOS, three Glock 43X and two Glock 17 Gen 5 pistols. These were gone in a day and half. No S&W or Sig Sauer pistols. The purchase of ammunition has accelerated with 9mm being the most sot after. Mostly purchase by the case. We are starting to limit the cases as there is none for the normal customers. No problem with the .223/5.56mm ammunition yet. Other calibers have stepped up as well .38 Special, 12gauge OO Buck shotgun, 40 S&W and .45ACP. Had several folks dusting off Grandpop's WWII war trophy .32ACP bring back as well. Better than a BFR. Training classes have really taken off even with Covid-19 restrictions and remain full and overflowing.

Pennsylvania's background checks are up and down lately. It was a three hour wait the other day and a few times it has been completely shut down. They are having trouble keeping modern guns in stock. Local gun shop still has plenty of older stuff in there but basically very little in the way of "plastic" pistols, AR's, AK's, short shotguns, etc.

Your lucky for a three hour wait. On Friday NJ NICS was still working on last Saturday's.

Victorians are getting upset due to the wear a mask policy and threatening to sue the Police if they get arrested they got upset with not being able to get into Bunnings a giant hardware chain here.
I have a simple solution for them I hope they get Covid and die to make more room for those of us that will obey the Govts legislation they are brainless stupid air thieves whom don't deserve to be upright on earth a staff member was assaulted at the store.

People are just selfish and seriously without a brain in their cavernous skull there is no cover up the virus is real and a grave threat to us all so do as the Govt has legslated Victoria and then you may come out of this as for the knuckle draggers well let them perish.

My wife and I went on a ride today a glorious sunny winters day my V4 is away getting serviced so took the Tricolore out I must say its a handful when on song even had a car on the wrong side of the road going along our favourite twisties gave them the universal salute whilst negotiating the curve at speed!!

They have completely stopped accepting new gun licence applications here. As it requires personal visits, which they are not willing to do. Renewals, and then variations [changes to existing one] are the only things they are doing. Plus many of the warrant-holders [sworn officer] who do still work in gun licencing - probably a small proportion these days - have been moved to ordinary police work. It took me weeks to get something out of them, and even then they got it wrong.

They can't do that in the US. Several governors tried but they got shot down real fast. 2nd Amendment right cannot be put aside for any state or local proclamation.

Some new numbers for everyone that I discovered yesterday just for an idea of how "severe" this virus really is. Average age of death in the US is 79 years. Life expectancy in the US is 79 years, coincidence? So 160,000 people have died from Covid (and really, we don't know if this is an accurate number or is greatly inflated which is suspected) with an average age of 79. 460,000 children disappear every year in the US and it really isn't talked about. Now I don't know the age breakdown, how many just ran away at age 17, etc but this is three times the number of Covid deaths and you would think (it is) more significant.

Covid deaths here are now just slightly over the daily average for the seasonal flu. 331 per day seasonal flu, 451 Covid, out of 7970 from all causes per day. Still don't know if this number has actually changed or numbers from one type of death were simply transferred to Covid.
