It is amazing what these politicians do and say. Last night i was reading that the State of Maryland purchased a bunch of COVID19 test kits from South Korea and are keeping them in a "secret" location being guarded by the Maryland National Guard to prevent the Federal Government from seizing them. You have got to be kidding me! I hope the Maryland governor realizes that all the Federal Government has to do is "Federalized" The Maryland National Guard and the State test kits then becomes federal test kits. LOL!! What an idiot! When I think about it it is also like being in jail except the inmates get better treatment, free medical care, free rent and board, free food and "work" release to go home and sock people in the head to make some extra tax free money. I am locked down, still pay my taxes, pay for my food if i can get it, pay for my meds and medical care, and get to walk around my neighborhood to get socked in the head for my money. I am missing something??

Hate being a conspiracy theorist but there is so much about this that makes very little sense.

In China where this originated, despite all their lies and under reporting of numbers, this does not appear to be as serious as it is in other places.

The only places this seems to have hit hard are China's primary economic competitors, The United States and Western Europe. 3rd world, very few cases comparatively.

Numbers, no one is telling us the true numbers and by now, they should be well known. Who is this affecting? Who is this killing? All indications are it is the very old and the very sick on both counts. While anyone can contract it, a large percentage have symptoms so mild they don't even know they have it. Numbers will tell us whether we need to continue with these shutdowns or not or even if they were needed in the first place. The Big news two days ago was the US death toll exceeded all the Americans killed in Vietnam. So what, that number is statistically small. We have that many people die in 8 days. Even during the Vietnam War, we had more people killed in auto accidents EVERY year than were killed in Vietnam. So it's a pointless number, it's a propaganda number. But not one news organization pointed any of these things out. I'm hearing from numerous sources there is nothing to this even in the hospitals. With the exception of NYC, hospitals are not overrun, in fact they are more like ghost towns. They emptied them out in preparation for a massive surge that never happened. Many are actually laying off staff. They can't pay them, they have no patients. The number they concern themselves with is the US now has more deaths by far than anyone else. Again, a pointless number. Per capita our deaths are smaller than most and the per case rate of death is less than half that of most European nations.

Politicians are pointing fingers at their political enemies rather than China who is the primary culprit in this entire mess. China controls the World Health organization, they control or seem to control the media as the media is bending over backwards to support their version of events. Politicians in the US on the Democrat side also are bending over backwards to support China's version of events. We have states with Democrat governors advocating a long shut down. We have states with Republican governors that never even shut down at all and others that are opening up now and they faced massive criticism at the time and now yet when the worst case scenarios never happen, the media conveniently finds something else to talk about rather than pointing them out as success stories.

The media and the new media, particularly YouTube, Facebook and Google have all become massive censures preventing any information that does not toe the line of the WHO and China version, removing all discussion which counters it in any way and publicly announcing they are doing so.

Why all of a sudden over this did governments shut down rather than ride it out. There appears to be little difference between the two other than those that didn't are in much of the world that isn't really being affected by this.

So what's the conspiracy? China is behind it all in a bid to strengthen their position in the world. They continue rattling sabres in the South China Sea. They shut down all transport in China while sending people from Wuhan to the United States and Western Europe. The media and politicians early on sided with them and encouraged people to welcome them, the "hug a Chinese" campaign. They control much of the media and are using it to deflect blame. Politicians in the US see this as yet another way to unseat Trump and they will side with anyone who they believe can help them in this. Inflate numbers, create fear, create dependency, erode rights.

Will it work? That seems to be the big question. It is creating a huge backlash in the US among the conservative portion of the population against China. We want our factories to return home. But again, the usual divide remains. The left says this is bigoted, etc and would rather blame Trump for this than the Chinese.

Just had our 2nd gathering in April at the State Capitol. Just as our extended stay at home order timed out our Governor extended our lock down until the end of May.

Whitmer’s new order is pursuant to the Emergency Powers of the Governor Act of 1945, declaring that the emergency is continuing. Under that law, no legislative approval is required.

Communication is paramount in such situations. And lots of so called leaders lack skills in that field. Plus, they are also incredibly arrogant, and that leads to “unhappy” people.
It is the same here, we just can’t carry weapons around. But if it goes on like this, someone will go crazy and things might quickly go south...
That is what makes me!!! Crazy. Talk to people in a clear way, as if they were adults (they are when you want their vote, when you tax them, when you call them to serve in wartime...). Why not treat them as such now?

Our Governor has been acting without the Legislatures approval since day one on this. There is a petition to impeach him with 61,000 signatures, there is a second petition with 21,000 signatures, a US Supreme Court Justice has ordered him to explain himself no later than Monday after a State Legislator filed a formal complaint. The US Attorney General is also looking into his actions. He agreed to sit down and work with the legislature on a reopening plan, two plans emerged, his and the Legislatures. He's going with his and it is the worse of the two. He still has a third of the state closed that even under his standards shouldn't be closed and he's starting a full week after the Legislature wanted. I have personally lost confidence in his ability to lead through this. He told employers last week that if their employees don't want to come back to work, they don't have too and they can continue to collect unemployment. Before, the employer could stop that because after all, they are employed and if they refuse, they lose their state benefits. Wolf told them to simply pay them more. With what the Federal government is giving them, they would need a $15 an hour raise to flip burgers in McDonalds. This will prevent businesses from opening back up and he has no problem with it. The State Health Secretary is a pediatrician transvestite and everyone knows it and confidence in his ability as usual runs right down party lines. I personally don't have a lot of confidence in him. Both of them just look like they are scared to death and in way over their heads. deaths from Covid have oddly started going down in my county and by a significant number. Either the Zombie appacalypse has started for real, there were a bunch of dead people named Lazarus or someone was cooking the numbers from the start. I'm thinking it's in the neighborhood of fifty that have come back to life in our county alone. Today was nice and sunny and warm. The lines to get take out were everywhere tonight. This was the first time I've actually seen people outside their cars lined up outside food establishments and it was at numerous places. The majority of people have had enough.

I said it ages ago there is something totally out of whack with what is happening to Italy, U.K and America its like a more virulant strain of Covid-19 as the deaths are staggering and you cannot say with any clarity that 100% of all the deaths have had an underlying condition that expidited their demise.
Apparently another side affect of this virus is it has awakened the Kawasaki virus that affects only very young children in various ways including the heart I think so a double edged sword there so thats pretty sad.
As far as people parading around with weapons I fail to see the connection between that and the virus unless it has morphed into a ground walking blob and they need to open up on it but the thought of 5-600 people running around emptying mags in all directions is pretty scary.
The lockdowns were not meant to be an intrusion of your rites but to attempt to keep you upright and breathing as this things propensity to infect people easilly is well documented just look at New York but in all fairness that is a hub with world travelers from all over the globe going through there.

I heard a medical professor on the radio the other day talking about a 102 year cycle with these things like the black plague, the flu in 1919, spanish flu if its not the same as the '19 one and this one but you'd have to look at SARS and Covid-19 where they were both purported to have originated from.
I'm not paricularly worried at what our P.M is doing can you ever trust a merchant banker but I am more than impressed with our state premier who took a no bullsh*t approach and locked our state down and regions it paid off as we are coming out of it slowly but I'd love our borders to remain closed forever so we may finally succeed from the east, no offence guys over there but you reckon W.A is so far behind we don't exist so we may as well keep our wealth to ourselves.

Your never ever going to change govt policies as the way I look at it they are elected by the people for the people but are more interested in their wage rises and the benifits of their positions with super and retirement benifits.
Our ex-prime ministers receive their wage for the rest of their natural life plus other perks, politicians only have to serve 2 terms in parliment and then they too can retire on their wage for the rest of their life with benifits their superannuation is Federal so does not fluctuate my poor old friend lost $4k this year alone with his super I know another lady years ago when things went down she lost 200K.

I am middle class and like most will suffer more that the other two the poor as they will never have to much in the way of life and the rich as they are too smart and evade and keep ahead of the tax man and like I said the govt is to self interested in what they can fleece from the sheeple.

Ovidio I feel for ya cobber hang in there hopefully when this is over we can all look back in gratitude to you for this thread as I am damn sure its kept allot of us here refocused on helping each other rather than watch and hear about death and inept govts along with sheeple who think the virus wont kill them so they gather like flocking dullhead birds...............!!
