    .22 Long Lee

Well, COVID-19 has screwed up mine, and everyone elses plans, so..... Here is an unusual girl for your enjoyment. A military Long Lee .22, but not a factory conversion.

Started out as a MLM Mk II* in 1899, a late girl most likely filling up a contract or an ordered replacement. As an outdated rifle it was then downgraded to DP, drill purpose.

But, someone decided she needed to live again and was reactivated to a Morris Tube, MT, trainer. For how long she was like this is unknown but obviously it was well used and needed as it was later fitted with a BSA .22 barrel. This was her final fate and how she was surplused. Note her original s/n was cancelled with her Morris Tube s/n and this number was used when it was rebarreled.

In excellent condition she is unique but not without a major, in my opinion, problem. Her original butt was replaced before I purchased her. Good news is that someone in Englandicon has the correct butt installed on a SMLE III, ( I have pictures attached), but when I tried to contact him I received no reply. Then my computer crashed and I lost his email. If this butt looks familiar please let me know!!

    Enjoy.

Nice...I never had the opportunity to own a full bore version, just missed it at gunshow decades back with bayonet. These that have been changed to .22 would be such nice shooters instead. Solid and steady...would love to have one to play a bit.
    Regards, Jim
