It actually says :

"Only known American No4 T trials rifle on the market and this could be your only chance to pick her up!"

There are a number of known Savage's, that were converted to 4t' for trials, in fact OC1 is a 4T and owned by a member on this forum.

0C109 was a 4T that was later converted to an L42A1

The description of this rifle may or may not be correct but I have had dealings with this gentleman in the past and all I can say is TREAT WITH EXTREME CAUTION. remember what was said about some RFD's on the recent Long Branch 4T post. I will say no more...…...

I saw this rifle some time ago, 2016, looked at it with a view to buying it. I think it was priced at £3,600. I took the photos without knowing what was important on a 4T at the time. It came up for sale some time ago at valmont, price was £10,000. Their ad said, as far as I can recall, it had been confirmed as a trials rifle by an expert. It then did not appear on their website for some time, I thought they'd managed to sell it. This is the Thread I started back then.

Always found Valmont to be well overpriced. Looks ok, but mismatched scope and bracket hardly make it a gem at that price.

On re-reading my comments I may have been a little over critical of this rifle four years ago. It does look to be an original rifle, but it has been tarted up a bit here & there. We can't say for certain whether its current Mk3 scope is correctly rematched to the rifle as we don't know if there is a scope serial number on the wrist. (Assuming I didn't miss a photo!). So, I suppose it could either be rematched, mismatched, or a Less Telescope rifle that has had a spare scope & bracket added to it. Even though it is a Savage made rifle & even though it has a Mk3 scope on it, it still seems an awful lot of money. I'll gladly sell one of mine for that price!

I think its a telescope less rifle that has had a scope added at a later date.
There is no scope serial number on the wrist and if you look on the butt socket in the centre you can see a T.R, but then below it is another poorly done T.R in another font.

This looks like it was added when the scope was fitted.

Roger, I thought you and other members did an excellent appraisal of this rifle 4 years ago. Had the advert write up been less of a "fairy tale", I would have probably bought it. I have to say that I'm happier with the one I've now got. I'm sorry that I hadn't the knowledge then to photograph the important points. It's a while now, but I can't recall seeing a scope number on the wrist.
I'm tempted to mention the RFD where I saw the rifle back then, but maybe it's better to PM this.
