Just for the sake of discussion, here's a C77 ball bullet. You can see the penetrator and the lead ballistic slug and it has a slight hollow tip as well. I sectioned this in the '80s when I needed to teach recruits about their ammo. The books were slightly wanting for exact info as they were written by Snr NCOs that had no actual idea what they were talking about and had little imagination about how to find out...nor did they care. This little gem was priceless through the years to show all ranks in question what their ammo had inside it...
