    Parkerized FAL Magazine Conservation/Restoration

    All,

I have an Israeli FAL magazine with a parkerized finish that needs a little work. It has a 1/8" spot of rust on it. How do I remove, repair, treat this spot?

A touch of oil and 0000 fine steel wool. That's what we used on parkerized weapons to remove rust and minimize damage to finish. The only repair would be redoing the parkerizing.

Now you'll get the phone book of replies...this one could have been searched and save the arguments...
    Regards, Jim

You can do a pretty good touch up with Oxpho Blue from Brownells. Just clean as BAR suggests above, degrease the spot that needs touch up and apply according to the instructions.
