    Sorry, I'm late to this post, but is this rifle actually intended for firing 8 mm Mauser, or only a drill/instruction aid for recruits? Has the barrel been bored out and rifled for 8 mm Mauser? As is, it is certainly amazing.

    They were intended for it, but I don't know that I'd want to be the one to actually pull the trigger! That said, I've read reports of them still in use in places in Turkeyicon as police rifles, so they can't have had too many of them blow up.

    Providing it looked ok after inspection, I would be sorely tempted to put a few rounds through it, even if it was just the once!

    It's such an interesting piece, I've had the pleasure to own or shoot the majority of Enfield variants over the years and I would love to tick shooting one of these off the bucket list..
