    Browning 1919 Cutaway

    Hey all,

Snagged another cutaway (some may recall the M2 Carbine I posted some time ago).

This one is a 1919. Pretty cool!

Pictures are from the auction company...I figure I bought the pictures when I bought the rifle

Let me know if you have any questions about these you'd like answered. I'll see what I can do! I know it's not every day someone has one of these they're willing to let someone "examine."

Haven't seen one of these in years, is this one life size or three times size? Last ones I handled were .50 cutaways in our Small Arms School...long time ago. What's the body made of, steel or aluminum? Potmetal...?

This one is a bit over 6' long.
It's hefty but not HEAVY. I'd guess aluminum.

I didn't have a lot of time to play with it today. I just took delivery and had to high-tail it back to the day job. I'll be fiddling with it more tonight.

These 1919 double size cutaways appear to be based upon 1919A6s but I never see them with a bipod.

I'd sure put a world of work into one of those, stripping and cleaning and some steel wool to tiddle it up...have it operating smoothly.

Very cool, love that one! I've got 5 cutaways in my collection and am always looking for additional examples. They rarely come up for sale in the UKicon.

When I see the oversized Browning M2 cut-way trainers, it reminds me of the Japaneseicon HO-5 20mm cannon of WW2. The Japs just made a larger size
Browning m/g and chambered it for their 20x94mm cartridge and it worked out. It also was fed by Browning type steel disintegrating links. Use on
    different types of aircraft

Hell of a shipping bill to get it across the pond, I'm sure!

And when they do come up for sale they are very expensive!

I’ve not got any of the double size cut sways but I do have 3 SKN Brens, a Cutaway Lithgowicon Vickers, a Cutaway Enfield revolver, a Cutaway No.4 rifle and a cutaway Browning M2AC. One I would like is a STEN or Lanchester but I’ve never seen one for sale as yet.

Nice collection, love an SKN Bren, a cutaway Vickers would be wonderful!
