A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. rcathey-

Yours looks in great shape! Unfortunately missing the shipping box which the base serves as the stand for the training aid and the manual. Also missing are the plastic cartridges and links for the training aid. It also appears to be missing the charging handle as well. I believe their is someone who replicating the plastic cartridges which look like a .50 caliber Browning MG cartridge. Most i have seen have broken parts. Yours is in great shape!

Collectors Source here in Canadaicon has some of the rounds available for it: 30-06 plastic double size training rounds (7) - Collector's Source, Military Collectibles Online

I have both the M1icon and the M1919 double size cut-aways along with a dozen or so of the plastic cartridges. I have to find some links for them if they exist.

Would .50 links work? I suppose you've looked at that idea already...

I could have sworn I replied to this...

Anyway, yes, it's definitely missing. Fortunately, it seems to be just a plain rod stuck in a hole. I could work the action by sticking something in there and pulling back. An easy replacement once this item has reached its "forever home."

Take some measurements and make a drawing and text it to me and I'll turn one out for you. I'd mail it off...wouldn't hesitate. It'll probably replicate the cocking assist handle for the .50 anyway...so the instructor could get hold of it.
    Regards, Jim

    Thanks, Jim!
I have access to a lathe at work...I guess I shouldn’t be lazy and put one together myself. I very much appreciate that offer though!

Might be worth asking one of these that has a .50 though and see if the cocking assist handle will fit. It's that bolt stud with a long extension...like a long .30 cal cocking handle.
    Regards, Jim
