    Romanian T-33 Tokarev

My pandemic purchase that I have no real idea when I'm going to get. Mike is helping me out with it but he lives halfway across the state and no gun shows for a while. My local dealers are very questionable right now on transfers so I didn't even bother with them. They have plenty of business but are trying to stick with their own stock, not having the odd transfer sent in.

Hope that magazine I found is what it belongs too or I'll have to buy another gun I guess. That would be terrible.

Anyway, Brownell's has them on sale, free shipping and I had a $10 coupon. I'm also not in a huge rush, I know it's safe with Mike.

The quest for a correct holster begins. Plenty on ebay it appears, all from the same seller and the same price. Could get a Russianicon one for less but that wouldn't exactly be appropriate.

I picked up Romanian TT-33 Tokarev 3 weeks ago. Classic Firearms had a sale for $189.99. The one I have is absolutely beautiful, you can not even tell its used. It comes in a plastic bag soaked in oil so It needs to be taken down and cleaned. I'm thinking about getting another, Classic has them still for $219.00

Update: today 5/5/2020 J&G Sales emailed me Yugoicon M57 Tokarev pistols in 7.62x25 caliber are on sale for $199.95. I have this one as well and like it more than the TT-33 because the grip is longer and fits my hand better (not perfect) but better.

Aim surplus also has the Romanian TT-33 for $219.95. They sold out of the $189.00 ones they had.

Mike has the pistol and sent me some photos of it. It's covered with light cosmolineicon, box was soaked from it. Looks good from what I can seen dark "black" finish, no wear marks, possibly straight from refurb, never issued or just well cared for. But hard to tell when it's grease covered. 1953 production. Holster and cleaning rod on the way. 2nd magazine which started this quest already here. Hope it's the right one anyway.

The holster arrived this evening. Has a name I just can't quite make out.

It looks like it. Mike says it is nice. Not sure when I'll have it in hand though. Mike lives in the other half of the state and no gun shows scheduled for a long while. He says he can get it to his partner down near Philly which gets it about an hour away for me which isn't bad. I had no place to send it during this shutdown. My local guy I trust can't take any transfers at the moment because they operate out of a pharmacy and they have to concentrate on that and their normal sales which they now require their customers to know that they want before they come in. Only one person in the store at the time It's a mess.

I just purchased another mag for mine, the guy I got it from sent me an email about two hours ago, says he has two more if I want them. If he sells them for the same $19.50 price I'll pick them up even though I don't really need them.
