There are about 1/2 a dozen buttplates like yours that not everyone agrees on. Winchester, Inland, Saginaw, IP, IBM to name a few. It's looks close enough to an Inland that I'd go with that. It's not one of the SA's that have been seen new in the original packaging. - Bob

Seriously? My bayonet went out for delivery in Grass Valley (northern CA) yesterday, but today ended up hundreds of miles south in Bakesfield (Southern CA)!!!!!!! WTF is wrong with the postal service? Yesterday, it had the whole tracking trail up to Grass Valley. Today, that all that trail disappeared and it showed up in Bakersfield. REALLY??????

Hmmmm... this morning it says delivered. Hopefully the clerk won't send it back out (the way my luck with this package is going!). Considering what a beauty of a carbine I got for $800, I can't really complain. In the great cosmic scope of things this bayonet episode is just a minor irratation!

Had a chance to run out to some BLM land and pop a few rounds from the Inland. Ammo was 110 Grain 14.7 of WW296 reloads. Magazine was a USGI 15 rounder. I was shooting at dirt clods and misc stuff at 75 to 100 yards, leaning across the roof of the car., Seemed to be pretty much dead on windage wise, but maybe shooting a tad low. I will adjust the sights when I can use a rest and some paper. With front and rear buffers, it was a joy to shoot. Can't wait to get it sighted in.

It always amazes me how easy it is to shoot the M1icon carbine. after shooting ARs and AKs more recently, it was really neat to pop off some rounds with this gentle shooting carbine with big punch.

Quick cell pics of the bayonet. Hs what appears to be original M8 Sheath, though I think it was a later one with hanger, but hanger was removed. Needs cleaned, but basically in good condition. Sheath has a bugger on one side of the tip. I could put a repair tip, but that tales away from the history. The blade looks pretty good, and doesn't look to have been sharpened much if at all. I'm happy at $125, even though I had to wait a month.
