    I finally got my own

Copy of Brophy's book, the 1903 Springfield. Been eyeing one for years, but seeing them priced on eBay and Amazon between $200-300 dollars, I said no way. Saw one on eBay with an opening bid of $75.00, i put a bid on it and won it for the opening bid price. Got it in the mail the other day and it is in mint condition.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Nice catch!, it's a great book, it took me near 7 months to find one at a reasonable price.

Well done, I got mine years ago by chance, bought a lot of military books and it was there, along with the Lee Enfield story and a few others. That was $300 for all. Maybe 20 years back now...

    Good catch to you.
    Regards, Jim

I bought mine from a friend's estate in 1998. I don't recall what I paid but, no doubt, it would have been thrown out along with a lot of his other stuff if I hadn't bought it. My friend's note in the fly-leaf indicates he paid $60 for it in 1994.
