    1) Enemy markings? Who says? Red, white and blue markings must be fairly numerous. Unit identification helps to narrow down the geographical possibilities.

    2) If indeed enemy markings, then could it be a relic of the Channel Islands occupation.?

What is it with the "Germ an" in the listing? Does that mean that there's no come back if it turns out to have no Germanicon connection or has eBay banned the word "German" or what???

Many countries used those helmets over many years. Unit marking? Re-enactors? Etc

OK, but it still looks like dark blue, white and red to me. Must be the lighting of the photo.

    You could be correct Patrick.

Has anyone ever seen any image of a front-line WW2 Wehrmacht soldat wearing anything other than a Germanicon style helmet, please? The only possible WW2 German users that I can think of is the Volkssturm or Luftschutz?

After Dunkirk the Germans collected up the equipment left behind by the Brits and equipped some french police units loyal to the Germans. The Brits left a lot of stuff behind. I saw a picture of this unit many moons ago. It wasnt a military unit but a Gendarme group that looked out for local trouble makers. While it could be anything, there is a chance it is a Occupation Gendarmerie helmet or something of the like. If i find the picture ill post it.
