    Reuniting Scope to Rifle

Hi all, brand new member here. I was referred to this forum by a gentleman on Facebook that this forum has had several successes with reuniting No. 4 Mk1 (T)s with their original scopes. I recently bought what appears to be an original T rifle, manufactured 1943, with markings on the stock indicating the original scope serial number was 1810. The rifle has been sporterized with cutdown wood, fortunately a completely intact barrel, and I’m wanting to restore it to its original glory. I know it’s a long shot but it would make it 100x better if I had the original scope as well. Thanks in advance.

You should post what you are looking for on the link provided below, under "rifles looking for scopes":

That serial number would indicate an early W. Watson & Son manufactured No32 Mk1 scope.

While it is a longshot to find the original, you have other options. If you PM Dr. Roger Payneicon on this forum, he may have one of his reproduction 'scope brackets left. They are true to original, and were even sourced as MOD replacements. I have two and swear by them.

No 32 scopes come up fairly regularly on ePay$. That might be a reasonable way to get that back into shooting condition.

    Good luck, and welcome!
