    Experimental Sniper Sling.

In Peter Laidlericon's book "An Armourer's Perspective" he shows the Experimental Sling made by the Mills Equipment Co (MECO). I know that people have posted before asking where to find one and the impression I get is they are in the hens teeth bracket, so I decided to have a go at making up one for myself.
The hardest part, once I had sourced all the correct parts was sewing it together by hand, going through up to four layers of webbing was not the easiest of jobs but with a sharp bradawl and a bit of patience it was done.
The finished article is not perfect or exactly to the dimensions given in Peters book as I had to use the standard No4 sling and not the longer 46 inch Bren gun sling that was used in the original.
I now await the opportunity to try it out at the range, whenever that may be

Marvellous effort Paul.........but you could have saved yourself a lot of hard work. There's a chap selling faithful copies in the US. I have several currently awaiting release from the Coventry postal hub following payment of import duties! Regardless, though, yours looks great.

Roger, if you don't mind me asking - I think I've come across the same so before I try and contact the vendor I was wondering was the chap in the US happy to send them directly to you or did they have to come via a US friend?

    Thanks, Kevin

Try: Rifle Accessories, Pistol Accessories, Silencers, Scope Mounts | MFIAP

I actually got Mike's details off here. Someone posted a thread about the slings about six or eight weeks ago.

Also, what I presume are the same slings on Gunbroker, not that that helps you chaps overseas from the US much:

WWII British Enfield T Sniper Experimental Sling - Other Rifle Accessories Parts at GunBroker.com : 862600652

    and

WWII British Enfield T Sniper Experimental Sling (Battle Worn) - Other Rifle Accessories Parts at GunBroker.com : 868509218

Also swear I saw one supposed original for a few hundred on gunbroker awhile back.
