    K31/43 scope wear

I wonder why the periscope section of many k41/43 scopes exhibit wear or fading? Some far in excess of the overall wear patterns.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. We are the authorized repair and maintenance entity in the United Statesicon for the ZFK 55 scope, the K31icon/42 scope and the k31/43 scopes.
Unfortunately you are in Canadaicon and your rifle cannot be shipped into or out of the United States. I wish I knew someone else who could help you but we took over from Jean Louis Lacour in Franceicon and have all of his custom-made brass tools for servicing those scopes. The only one of the three can that can be removed from the rifle Is the ZFK 55 scope. The other two cannot be removed from the receiver and would have to ship with the receiver and the barrel and that's not permitted by either country.
If I hear anything different that happens in Canada, I will certainly let you know.
