No , there are several good ones . My .45 M3 and M3A1s with Ciener cans are quieter being fired than being dry fired . The brass case keeps the bolt from hitting the rear of the barrel , quieting it more than the muzzle blast increases it . The first time I fired mine , I thought the mag was not all the way in and the gun didn't feed a round . then came the sound of the bullet going through the cardboard , then the brass case bouncing off the concrete . I thought " Nooooo " , but the bolt was locked back . Several of my .22s in pistol and 4-1/2 AR15 mode as well as 9" 3oo Black out with 220 grain subs are not much louder .

I had an M3A1 years ago and a can to match and used to go through ten mags in fifteen minutes. I had to gather brass with a broom and grain scoop. You could hear the bullets impacting on the target backstop and the cases jingling...sure made it hot though.

I have used the Rheinland arms rifle kits. Built the 45acp, 7,62x39, 450 blackout. All on Mauser actions. There a little modifications needed. The kits do not come with the magazine release. But when built they never stay long on the sale table.

Here's what's achievable if you've got a No4 receiver knocking around - a DeLisle Mk4 (T) (Actually an LEI Delisle MkIII that I project-ed with a repro No 32 scope) - Good out to 100 yrds so far, and need to try it out to 200 once we are allowed human markers in the butts at Bisley once again. (.45 ACP too slow for the electronic targets...)

On mine, 30cm to comply with a UKicon Section 1 Firearms certificate. The original DeLisle had a 21cm barrel which would make it section 5 in the UK (can't be owned by normal mortals...)

I have that problem with my 4(T) at 900 yrds on the electronic targets.....so have stopped shooting with my club at that distance, as has another member with a P17 (although I would have thought 30-06 would have had enough legs at 900 yrds for the electronics) as they want to use the electronic targets being all largely 7.62 target rifle owners

Oh, and I'd love a UKicon spec Delisle clone.....might one day consider selling my No.5 and replacing it with one of Chris Goodwin's Delisle clones.

Shooting mine I found that heavier bullets driven very fast did the best . Since it is a bolt action rifle it does not have the limits imposed on the 45 acp by handguns . The 300 grain bullet was best at about 1250 fps . If you are going to load to that level use 45 super cases or check the web thickness on the 45 acp cases as some brands are much thicker . 100 yards was the limit for really good accuracy , at 200 it was good for a 12" square plate at best .

The best thing I found out about the builds is that the kids love them. Grandpap can load up the mags as fast as the kids empty them.
