These rifles and all that resemble them are prohibited in Canadaicon, and the US has specific laws regarding them. You need to be more informed about what you advise people to try here, could get them in trouble. Your link is dead however.

Did Nixon ever get a presentation rifle ? not sure still looking - found this

The letter went to Nixon deputy assistant Dwight Chapin, who wrote a memo to Nixon's chief of staff, H.R. Haldeman. "Elvis showed up here this morning and has requested a meeting with the President

Meeting approved, Elvis entered the building. Armed. Sort of. "I got a call from the Secret Service telling me we had a little problem, because Elvis had brought a gun in to give the president," Krogh recalled in an interview for "Frontline," the PBS series. "I had to go over and explain to them that 'No guns in the Oval Office' was standard policy around here." The gift was a WWII commemorative gun that Elvis had taken from his own wall.

This beautiful Detonics Servicemaster in .45 was made for presentation to Ronald W Reagan back in 1986, by a young Tom Selleck ( Big Detonics fan ) including Sealed signed letter from Tom to Ron describing the total awesomeness of the Detonics, on Tom Selleck letter head with accompanying photos of the gun in it original Haliburton Zero brief case, with the blue velvet lined walnut wood presentation box.. An unfired mint condition Detonics Servicemaster in .45 (Seattle made) with fully engraved custom serial number RWR001 . This gun never made it in to Ronnys hands. Something to do with tax reform and the R&D loop hole closure of 1986. But this was built for and intended for Ronald Wilson Reagan. This is a true collectors item. One of a kind . All the fan stuff is included Haliburton, the pictures the unopened autographed letter, the walnut inner box. 1986 was an incredible time for the US

This gold-plated AR-15 was presented to President Kennedy by Colt Firearms

I'm guessing that all firearms presented to US presidents end up in the Smithsonian Institution collection?

The M14 #1 is in the possession of the national Parks service.

    Springfield Armory NHS, US NPS

    Eisenhower M14 Cat.# SPAR 1508

The Army customarily gave each new United Statesicon President a special rifle made at Springfield Armory. Before presentation these pieces were given a detailed examination which often revealed flaws. Consequently, when the Armory was requested to build a presentation M14 for President Eisenhower, it was decided to make two rifles. The first was found to be flawed. Examination of the second M14, however, revealed no flaws and it was selected to be presented to the chief executive. M14 serial D.D.E. #1 is displayed here. The rifle given to President Dwight D. Eisenhower was D.D.E. #2.

I would guess that #2 is in the presidential library
