Recalled Rossi Model 461 Revolver on GB

Couple years ago I bought my son his choice of a Revolver at a gun show for a Birthday present. He chose a new Rossi .357 Model R971 4" blued. First outing we struggled to get less than 18rds thru it. Single action cocking was acting up and after measuring at home the cylinder gap was too tight. So we contacted them and sent it back for service. 4 months later After getting it back, he was notified a few months later about a Safety recall. Long story shorter, shipped it back Oct 1st, they noted received 10-30-19. After ~4 months we were informed it was deemed Un-Serviceable. Class action law suit had been filed after a LEO dropped his and it went off killing him. Taurus finally came thru in late May 2020 and he received a Taurus Model 65 as a replacement. 4 months for the first service work and 8 months for the Recall inspection. Total time away was a little over a year. But they came thru some obstacles themselves during this time. Rossi/Taurus had packed everything up and moved to I believe Georgia. Covid caused delays both here in the states and in Brazilicon where they are made. Brazil being hit hard at that time. I give 5 Stars to their support people who were quick to answer and didn't sugar coat anything.

So on to the GB Auction,
The other day I noticed a Like New Rossi Model 461 on GB with active bidding. Thought about it for a couple days and decided to contact the seller to mention it was recalled and the law suit.
He contacted me back saying he wasn't aware of it and Thanked me.
I see he added part of the info I sent him to the listing.
To my surprise even though he has added this to the description:

PLEASE NOTE: It was just brought to our attention that This Revolver is Recalled and part of a Class Action Lawsuit. Taurus will deem it Un-Serviceable and offer a Taurus in exchange. Please go to this link for information.

I Added The Serial # the Rossi web link is acting up. Says Y Thru K, this happened the other day also. No doubt this is a Recalled Revolver and part of the Class Action Suit.

I just tried again and it shows:
Your Serial Number DP177349 Has Been Found!
    Stop using your revolver immediately
    and follow the instructions below

    Serial# DP177349

    Rossi Safety Warning

Maybe when the Web Site acts up those using the serial# to search think they are OK ?

Buyers are still bidding on it. It took my son and I over 8 months to get his replacement.

Does anyone think their bidding to get a NEW replacement Taurus? (I'm not sure what model they offer in this case).

Bidding because they haven't read the full description ?

Bidding to buy cheap then flip for a profit ?

Last Guess: Maybe guys that plan to carry on a open cylinder ?

    I just don't understand...........

I worry about the next owner down the road........... If not knowing about the 'Issues' What if it's someone buying for their kid or Wife ?

    I just don't get it..... $$ isn't worth a life

    Any thoughts to Share ?

BTW: I contacted GB to ask about listing items that were currently on a Recall because of safety issues. The only reply I could get was that GB is only a Listing Service. That it was the Buyers responsibility to contact the seller for any condition matters.

What The He!! is that about? This seller had no idea about the safety issue or law suit.
I wasn't going to stick my nose in their business. But after thinking about a buyer who may not know and the mess my son and I went thru, I figured at the least I should contact the seller.

    Careful out there........

PS: I wonder had we not had the first problem and sent it in, If we would have been contacted about this Safety Recall. The Warranty/Registration was mailed in right after the purchase.

2 more bids pushed this auction passed its scheduled closing time
Winner will be paying $315.00 + $30.00 shipping...... Total $345.00 for a Revolver that needs to be destroyed IMO.
Or turned in and get a Taurus replacement in a year or so.
Just hoping it's not a Flip for more $$ and not reveal the Safety issue.

notice that the "defect" was only noticed when Taurus decided to shut down production of MOST handguns by Rossi?

By the OP's description, this was a defect--a revolver which doesn't revolve or goes off when you drop it has issues.....
