Well, its got a cupped butt plate, so likely not much more than 18 months old. Afrika Korps supply route to North Africa was pretty strangled by late 42/early 43, so probably from any re-supply that got through in 41/42.

Now, you've mentioned it, I can just see the tiny bit of of the butt side plate where it wraps under the toe of the butt stock.....!!
That makes it even more unusual - never realised that there had been any Gebirgstruppen attached to the Afrika Korps...?
