Need Help Identifying
I am thinking about buying the attached rifle but I am having some difficulty IDing it. It is stamped "Rodmans No 4 N.J. 1 1941". Any help would be appreciated.

Well, it's a No4 Lee Enfield ...if you have a look at them online you'll be able to put the puzzle together. Close up pics will help us more for identification of maker and other things.

Its pretty hard to give an over view from a distant picture allot can be gleaned from close ups of the features of the No.4 in the pic if you search the threads there is allot of useful info you can gain. A quick reference guide is Strattons books on the No4 & 5 if your going to go into the Lee line then get the last version of Skennertons the Lee Enfield. There are allot of knowledgeable fellows here with real world experience it nigh on impossible to give a valuable assessment for you from a distant picture of the rifle.

Even just some description of markings from the seller...not the markings you described. They sound like an importer's marks. Should be the left side of the receiver.

If that is all you have for photos and info it is impossible to give a valuation.
Does the bolt match? What's the condition of the barrel? What size bolthead is fitted? Has it been drilled & tapped for a scope? Etc. etc.
Value also depends where YOU are and where the rifle is.
You're considering buying or you bought it and you want to know if you did well or what?
