    Mossberg 44US(a) Butt Plate

I am in the process of rebuilding a friend's Mossberg 44US(a). It is the civilian version and belonged to his father. Prior to passing away, is father took the entire gun apart and of course, most of the parts ended up missing when my friend found it. I've found everything I need (really nice people at Havlin's) except a butt plate (I've tried Numrich, Ebay, CFN, etc.). If I cannot find an actual 44us butt plate, is there something else that will fit? My friend wants to rebuild the gun so he can remember shooting it with his dad. Thanks!

Try a Mossberg shotgun buttplate. If you can locate one send me a traced outline of the buttstock end and center to center of the mounting holes and I'll dig through my stash of buttplates to try and find something. Worse come to worse I can make one for you. PM if interested.

Here are the before and after photos. Thanks to Usabaker for helping us find the butt plate. I'll create a new threat on the Restorers section with more photos and details.

Pretty good but it is hard to really tell since my eyes are not what they were. My son-in-law was impressed with it and he was a USMC scout-sniper in Iraq/Afghanistan. The owner is coming by tomorrow to shoot it and pick it up.
