    USMC rebuild

Thought I would post some photos of my USMC rebuild that I bought a very long time ago.
As a matter of fact nobody really knew about USMC rebuilds back then. Sometime in the late 1990's I sent some 1903 serial numbers to the late Frank Mallory of Springfield Research. He replied that my SA s/n 1031506 was among known USMC serial numbers and could be a marine rifle. Later John Beardicon confirmed that this was a USMC rebuild.

The barrel is a Sedgley 9-41 and the stock is without a cartouche and the receiver color is original to USMC rebuilds. The bore is like newAttachment 110428Attachment 110429Attachment 110430Attachment 110431Attachment 110432Attachment 110433Attachment 110434

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Complete with pipe-wrench marks, couldn't believe when I first found out those were the way they should be.
