USGI M1 Carbine Quality Hardware Type 2 Sear GE-Q, Correct?

    Gentlemen,

This item is listed on Gun Broker as a USGI M1icon Carbine Quality Hardware Type 2 Sear GE-Q.
War Baby, book #1 page 386 list QHMC sears as "GE-Q" however, there is no reference to this sear having a "hole".

The photo is of poor quality, but I would like to have the experts opinion on this item.

Riesch shows a Type I and type II GE-Q Sear. A Type II can have just a grind mark or complete hole (I still don't know what the Grind or Hole is for maybe someone knows)
Your link shows a Type II.

Same seller has this GE-Q listed as a Type I, but has a grind mark, So I believe it would be considered a Type II Technically.

Happy I could add to the confusion.....

    Charlie,

I always value your opinion. Your are correct, Riesch shows a Type II with both a hole or grind mark. However, War Baby seems to indicate there should be no "hole" (or it's just not stated) with a "GE-Q".

I like the confusion.....that's how I learn from the "smart guys".

    Gentlemen,

I located in War Baby page 310 that the Type I sear, part number 6200978 was replaced by the Type II part number 5653483. If I am interpreting what stated the Type II was identified by the grinding mark (early production) or the hole (late production).

If I'm wrong, I often miss interpret, please feel free to correct my thoughts. All comments are welcome.

    Tom,
See the post down in the carbine forum.
I've got it pretty darn close.
Also a link in there to the CCC and Jim M's Info about sears.
