Stripper clips ??

I just bought a 1909 Argentine Cavalry..7.65 Argentine..and a 1916 Spanish...7x57. I have ammo for both, but the only clips that came with both.. have a T in a circle...and I'm not sure what I have ..or what I need .Both calibers seem to fit ..Can someone enlighten me ?...Thanks..JV...

Most all Mauser calibers use the same rim size. 8mm, 7mm, 6.5 Swede, 7.65×54 Belgian/Argentine all use the same stripper clips.

don't get to hung up on them, they don't always want to work with a rifle. I got a box of those Swedish ones from ebay last year.... very few fit in the stripper clip slot on my rifle. seem to flare out at the ends a bit much

There is 3 main styles of Mauser Stripper Clips. No bump stripper clips, two bump, and three bump. Calibers should usually fit in all of them, its whether or not the clip feeds from the gun effectively that is the question.

6.5 Swedish actually uses a slightly larger stripper clip as the case head is larger in size than the others (also why Swedish 6.5 clips work very well with Arisakas), most American manufactures of it just use the same size as the others as they are already usually making .30-06 etc, with that case head.

For the 1909 you want no bump stripper clips like this 1891 1909 Argentine stripper clip - SARCO, Inc

For the 1916 I suspect you want 2 bump clips not of the Swedish variety though the Swedish type may work, just not as well as the standard 2 bump clips.
