    Recoil plates

Can someone please show and tell me what a recoil plate is. I have a 1918 MkIII * and my schematics make no mention of such. My expert friend confused it with the recoil pad.
According to one source they were of copper and another said aluminum ones also became available.

Anyone got a full forearm for sale?

    Thanks.

The only parts specifically called "recoil plate" that I am familiar with are on revolvers, to stop the cartridges - other than the one being fired - from flying back out of the cylinder because of the recoil. Never heard of it in connection with a rifle.

Does he mean a Recoil Lug? I don't think one exists on this rifle. Could be he's talking about the stock plate, I can see this being confused for a recoil lug.

I think he took " recoil pad " and " butt plate " and put them together to form " recoil plate " . I know the US marked Britishicon rifles had aluminum butt plates while the originals had brass .

zamakicon butt plates were a substitute for brass during WWII. Mostly Long Branch I believe.

    Recoil plates

There were 2 copper plates inserted where the draws are on the bottom wood to help strengthen the draws, apparently it is an Australianicon thing. See pic...
