Facebook forums quickly devolve into stupidness in short order. Some people ask a question but don't like the answer they get. Someone when answering how much something is worth always contributes "back in the day we bought these by the barrel load for $2 a barrel". And there are many who answer questions when they don't know the answer and then fight about it when someone who does know corrects them. Lots of fun. They are a lot more active than here though. Seems this place gets quieter and quieter.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. That's because there is little drama here and you have to actually think.

MILSURPS is a forum of collectives.
Those that in many cases, have been at the tip of the spear and fought against adversaries and from that can pass on their expertise to those who follow, and buy rifles and guns that we have all had vast experience with.
There are those on here that loved the weapons so much, that they took them to pieces to rectify a fault that needed doing, as young REME or SAC lads. They took the brunt of the critism!

This is in my humble opinion the ONLY site, where you can get a balanced and justified decision on your problem, thats going to save you a lot of money.
Here endeth my piece for the weekend!
'Tonight my men and I have been through hell and back again, but the look on your faces when we let you out of the hall - we'd do it all again tomorrow.' Major Chris Keeble's words to Goose Green villagers on 29th May 1982 - 2 PARA

Why beat around the bush? Milsurps is a Canadianicon site. Some people from other countries which shall be nameless may not like that. Therefore why emphasize the fact?
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.

Embrace the quiet! or run circles in the rat race outside. Certainly, trolling for idiots is a favored past time of many - but today the idiots are trolling back by burning down your neighborhood. All the more reason to appreciate this place and its "quiet".

MeWe is better than Facebook. Facebook firearms groups are filled with know nothings.

This is true for the majority of internet groups. This is why I restrict my viewing and responding pleasures to few places; MILSURPS, Winchester Arms Collectors Association, and
