    Lahti M/40 cracked.....need new receiver

    Greetings,
today at the range my Lahti/Husqvarna m40 broke and had a crack in the receiver...
One piece actually broke off and the crack had developed in the rear portion of the receiver...
I need to find a new receiver...Anyone got any leads?

    thanks

I wouldn't bet on it. Even Gunparts doesn't have them... Upper Receiver, Blued | Gun Parts Corp.

Try asking the internet for "Lahti 40 receiver for sale in the USAicon" Not much showing that's affordable. Hvsquvarna Lahti for sale

You will need to buy another complete pistol. The receiver is the pistol, legally. No simple solution.

Investigate a very good welder, that might possibly rectify. If it works for the 1911 it should work for the Lahti.

Yes, we did the front of a .45 year ago after the slide broke at the case hardening line.

If you have all of broken off metal parts. Check for an individual who does micro laser welding. Can build up the damaged area and re-profile. I have had that done to a slide for a Beretta Model 1944 bring back that broke off the front end.

There were only so many Lahtis made and not recently either. You would be very lucky to get a receiver of any kind. It would help buying another gun but then you will only have one working in any case, except if the working gun really is spares only. I recommend going the expert welder way too.
