    Yard Sale Score

Yard sales are few and far between this year but I got a bargain at one today. Got this haul for $2.50. Includes Marx, Ideal Toy, Auburn Rubber and Eldon, all US from the 50’s and 60’s. Two I can’t identify. The Ideal Toy's are near mint.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Ha! Ha! That's great! I was once the proud owner of a half-track and gun combo just like yours. That was some time ago, but I suppose if one were to excavate the immediate surroundings of where I grew up, one just might find them.

I actually managed to hang on to most of my cool toys from being a kid. I collected things pretty early on. I did have a substantial portion of my matchbox collection get stolen when I was in my mid teens. I've for the most part replaced them as an adult. I played with them hard. The ones I have today are in much better condition than those I had as a kid. Of these, I've never seen any before with the exception of the Auburn half track I have half a dozen of them now I believe. One is actually rubber, the rest are plastic like this one.
