I don't know if anyone else has posted regarding this excellent film yet, but I watched the Australian film Danger Close the other night, about the ANZAC battle at Long Tan, its an absolutely superb film and highly recommended to everyone to watch.
Great sound track too I was only 19.

I watched it a while ago and enjoyed it very much one scene reminded me of the Galipolli Nek charge where there was conflict in the chain of command between Anthill and his CO I fear if it was not for the iroquois helicopter pilots and the NZ 105mm gunners things may have not worked out the way they did.
I have read Long Tan and Beyond and the film is pretty accurate to what went on in the rubber plantation the Australian version of Once We Were Soldiers with Hal Moore.
No doubt the gunners and RAAF Huey crews saved the day Ron.
The troops gave an excellent account of themselves, but running out of ammo and a force of overwhelming numbers would have inevitably won the day.
It's also quite possible they would have had the base over run too if the patrol hadn't made contact first, they would have suddenly found thousands of NVA and VC right on the perimeter...
I read an account of the battle some years ago and certainly got the impression the film followed fact, very closely.
How did the film go down in Australia Ron, it seemed to pass me by here, it was flagged by a mate as a must see.
Very impressed by the accuracy of equipment too, down to the right Land Rovers and correctly speced L1A1's.
Possibly the only fault, (if you can call it that) was M16's un-cocked in the fire fights, with the port covers in place.
