Such a thing as a No. 4 Mk 1 grenade launcher during WWII?

Hi, just idly curious if there was ever a grenade launching muzzle device of some sort issued for the No. 4 Mk 1 family of rifles in Britishicon and Canadianicon service during WWII, or, if rifle grenades were needed, a different variant of the weapon such as wire-wrapped SMLE, etc., would have been used. I've seen the ENERGA launchers for the No. 4 Mk 1 but as I understand it, those are a post-war development. Thanks for any insights!

Yes. Cup launches for the no 4 were introduced in 1942. They were designated Discharger No. 3 Mk I. 10,600 were made by Wembley Tool co. and Britishicon Vacuum Cleaners.

India developed a spigot launcher for the No.4 rifle in 1944.

The impact of discharge being taken solely through the bbl lugs turned out to be more than the rifle could take, and Sht L.E.'s were retained for this role for much of the war.
