BERKELEY POLICE DEPARTMENT - SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1903

Gunslinger Auctions has a nice looking 1903 up on the auction block. I wonder if the "BERKELEY POLICE DEPARTMENT" tag is the real thing or not.

I’ve seen this rifle for sale before somewhere.
...or at least another Berkeley rifle.

These ownership tags are neat to me. No one would bother with it these days due to the cost to have them made!

Dollar to a donut, with a serial number of 726996 whoever buys it will renew the "Is a low number 1903 safe to shoot?" arguments.

    The saga continues.

The seller is looking at a pretty tight profit margin...even if it goes for the buy it now price. Tighter than I like to work!

It's possible that $1,200 includes premiums. Some auctions list their final value that way. I'm not familiar enough with this auction house in general, or Proxibid specifically, to know if that's the case.

So best case, he makes a couple bucks. Worst case, he loses money. Either way...I don't see the logic! Maybe it's a "loss leader," just driving traffic to his listings when people (me) post a link to this auction haha.
