    Unusual No32 bracket marking?

    Attachment 111041Attachment 111042

Hi, thought I'd post a couple of pics of this bracket I picked up a while back, it has second, tiny, JG stamp just under the rear cap. Not sure how much of an oddity this is, just thought it would be of interest.

Thanks Matt. Never seen a JG there before. Maybe it was a Friday afternoon & he was feeling cantankerous!

Is it an original or repro bracket?

Yes it's an original Rose Brothers bracket. The interesting bit is that the additional JG stamp is half the size of the one usually found on these brackets. I thought possibly a stamp utilized on other Rose Brothers products, whatever they may have been, maybe a chap filling in due to the normal inspector being off work, who knows, just another very minor mystery.

    It was wartime.....

I learnt many years ago in collecting this sort of stuff..........to never say never when it comes to markings on wartime old poop and pie crust

    Oddities abound everywhere
