Lance, that's a great collection. I have a couple of .22 SMLE's. one is a Lithgowicon from 1946; the other is a 1918 peddled scheme rifle by SSA.
However this rifle does not carry the normal .22 stamps on the wrist.
    Photos on: https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=68126

It looks like a solid .22 barrel, not tubed.

Interesting rifles your SSA might be military or civilian. There were military contracted conversions that were not marked, for example, all the AM s/n'd rifles (Air Ministry some have thought).

Here some pictures taken from an Italianicon site “exordinanza.net”.
These rifles were modified in Terni.
They have front and rear sight from M1icon Garands.
The rear sight, in order to allow the removal of the bolt, is installed with a hinge and a locking system, and can be tilted sideways.
The magazine is empty and is used to collect the spent cases.
These rifles are very well liked by shooters due to the long sight radius and the excellent sights.

Here is the link to the article.

I hope I could post that material...

    Now I’m in trouble...
A guy will come over tomorrow and look at my StGew57.
If he buys it, I’ll have the 750 I need for the pea shooter...
    I’ll hold my breath now...(metaphorically).

You will not regret buying a .22 SMLE. They are so much fun to shoot. Even my 9 year old daughter loves shooting them
